With this product you can install your games to a regular IDE hard drive.
This provides faster loading times in the games, and minimizes the risk of children tearing expensive discs.
The product only works with PS2 games, and we cannot guarantee that all current or future games are compatible. It is not possible to play online with games started from the hard drive. Check with the publisher of the respective games if the license allows you to install it on the hard drive.
You must have a Sony Broadband Adapter to physically connect the hard drive. You can use Sony's original 40GB hard drive (not sold in Europe at the time of writing) or a regular PC hard drive. However, not all hard drives fit / work.
Most hard drives fit, but Western Digital does NOT fit the connectors on the broadband adapter.

NOTE - The new base station PS TWO "slimline" SCPH-70004/75004/77004 does NOT normally have space for any IDE hard drive. If you have a PS TWO or for any other reason, you must use a USB hard drive. Read the product information for USB EXTREME. At early SCPH-70004 we can retrofit the IDE connector, see the product XCM HD CONNECT.
