This is one of the first cards in the market to be able to start 3D games.
3DS Link is the same card as R4i Gold Deluxe but with a different name and packaging, as well as with a micro SD to USB adapter.
Works much like a Gateway 3DS but is cheaper.
Your 3DS / 3DS XL may not have a higher system version than 4.5, but if you have 9.2 or lower, you can downgrade to 4.5.
Although you are limited to system version 4.5, the card offers "virtual" system update where you restart the console with a higher system version loaded from a memory card.
The card can start backups that would otherwise be locked to a region other than your own 3DS. So finally there is a way to play import games that otherwise require you to also import a 3DS from the same region as the games you want to play.
