This chip works on all models of XBOX.
NOTE: Be sure to flash this chip immediately with the correct BIOS depending on which XBOX version you have. Version 1.6 = Evo-X M8_16PLUS. Older XBOX = Evo-X M8 or X-ecuter 2 4983. If you run with the wrong M8 version, the xbox may eventually become damaged due to incorrect settings.
New version of the aladdin chip. Now includes a pin sleeve on the chip and pin strip for safer and easier mounting.
Unlike the X-ecuter 2 chip, you can only have a 256K BIOS in this chip.
Easy mounting - Solder the pin strip to the motherboard and press the chip firmly into place. Only four cables must be soldered in addition to the pin strip.
The chip's functions are controlled by starting the xbox in different ways:
1: A quick push of the xbox's power button causes the xbox to start without activating the chip. Then the xbox works just as usual, you can use XBOX Live etc.
2: Hold the xbox's power button for one second at startup and the box starts with the chip enabled. Depending on which BIOS you use, you can now run Linux, Evolution-X, XBOX Media player etc. In this mode, the chip is "protected" against bios updating.
This chip comes with "Legal Cromwell flash BIOS". If you want to use another BIOS, you must burn a CD with the bios you want to use as BIOS.BIN (256K) and start the xbox as described in point 3 above.
If you ever flash "wrong" you can remove the flash circuit from its socket and send us to us and we will re-insert the Cromwell cinema. You do not have to solder the entire chip.
