Solderless SmartXX v2.0 fits XBOX version 1.0-1.4
If your XBOX is manufactured before 2004-05-xx, it is most likely a 1.0 to 1.4.
If you have XBOX version 1.6 (with Xcalibur video chip, manufactured 2004-05-xx or later) you should instead order a "regular" SmartXX or SmartXX LT OPX and a "Spider Adapter"
You cannot use the LCD display when you have made a solderless SmartXX mounting because the solderless mounting adapter does not provide the 5V connection needed. But should you still do all the soldering required for LCD, you can certainly solder a 5V connection there too ...
NEWS with this chip:
NO switch is required for configuring the chip's functions / selecting bios etc. Everything is controlled with the joypad and a menu on the TV.
Divide the chip's memory (3.5M for BIOS, 0.5M reserved for the chip's own operating system) into different 256K, 512K, 1024K, 2048K banks.
Backup BIOS on the chip - there is always the possibility of flashing the chip if you accidentally flash in a non-functioning bios. Select any bios file on your hard disk or CDROM. No cables / no computer is needed unlike x-ecuter 2 PRO / XBIT
Extra features to back up the xbox's EPROM to the chip's memory, set ntsc / pal video mode, select game region and dvd region etc.
