Programming adapter for X-ecuter 2 Lite

Normally, you can flash your X-ecuter 2 a few thousand times without any problems with the help of the "flash bios" command in the evolution-x dasboard, the xflash software or with raincoat flasher from Linux.

But if you accidentally flash a non-functioning BIOS into the chip, the xbox does not start, and thus you can not use it to flash the chip.

Then there are the following options:

1: Insert another x-ecuter 2 bit or pro chip (this is easy since the chip is mounted with removable connectors, no soldering required) and start the box. Then you change the chip while the box is running and flash it.

2: Send the chip to us with the desired bios on a floppy disk. If the chip is purchased from us, enclose return postage 20: -. Otherwise it costs 200 SEK + 70 SEK return shipping (postage).

3: Buy this adapter and you can then test different cinema versions etc. without having to worry about it being wrong.

With this adapter it is possible to connect the chip both to the computer's parallel port or via USB. Since USB is usually less sensitive to long cables, this makes your Lite chip easier to flash than an X-ecuter 2 PRO :-)

- update, there is no software for the adapter that supports programming via USB, however it is possible to connect the USB cable to the computer for power supply so you do not have to use a 9v battery.
